This customer was installing a pool and wanted to enhance the surrounding area with something more visually appealing than traditional concrete. The client wanted a modern, sleek look that would complement their pool and existing outdoor space.
Specifically, they wanted a smooth surface with clean lines that would stay cool under foot during the summer. After reviewing several product options with the client, we recommended Techo-Bloc’s Greyed Nickel Para pavers. These oversized slab pavers perfectly fit their desire for a modern aesthetic while providing a durable and attractive alternative to concrete.
The pavers were locally sourced through one of our trusted vendors, and while Techo-Bloc isn’t manufactured in Kentucky, its wide availability made it an excellent choice for this project.
The project took about two weeks to complete, starting with site cleanup and preparing the base material for the new installation. Due to the compact space, the pool area footprint was already established, but we made additional design modifications to accommodate a hot tub and create some much-needed privacy. Once the concrete base for the pool coping was poured and set, we installed the pavers around the pool, along with channel drains to manage water runoff. Finishing touches included detailed paver joints and the addition of large urns filled with seasonal flowers for a pop of color and personality.
The end result was a clean, stylish, and functional outdoor area that exceeded the client’s expectations. It’s always satisfying to start with a dirt and gravel site and turn it into a place where families can gather and enjoy their time outdoors.
